i just got a 284 from a local junk yard, what kind of engine mods can they handle? turbos (not very big), and engine HP? i got a 3.4 lined up for it by the way.

supposedly 300ft-lbs of TQ... but that's from the same people that rated the 282 at 275 ft-lbs.
282's regularly take 400+ ft-lbs in a bunch of different applications, 284 should be similar. I'd have it checked out by a good trans shop first though.Past Builds;

I know Nico (from way back) took apart a 284 and said that the internals were barely smaller than BMWs biggest trans, so it's pretty beefy.
