    4T60-E Really hard shifting.

    In my brothers 91 GTP when he first takes off 1st to 2nd gear is a very hard shift, i mean really really hard, it only does this twice then it stops? is this bad? or can it be ignored? it started when he put his new chip in but we took the chip out a few days ago and its still doing it. thanks

      fine, it shifts perfect in every other gear.

        well we bought some lucas for it and a new filter and fluid and when we dropped the pan it was all black and there was alot of big metal chunks at the bottom of the pan. the car still drives fine, but were gonna look for a 5 speed for it because i doubt its gonna last long.

          damn big matel chunks not a good sign ..I also wanna put a 5 speed in mine but money is tight right now

            That ain't good. I'm assuming a 3.4 DOHC? If so, go for the HM-284, it's stronger than the 282. Unless you don't have the cash and the means to find the more rare 284...
