5 speed swap

has anyone ever put at 5 speed in a euro? can it be done and how easy?

What motor your Euro have?
2 or 4door?
Do you have column shift or floor shift?

3.4DOHC, 4 door, floor shift. im wondering because theres a junkyard that has quite a few cars with the 282's and 284's in them right near me.

It's as hard as doing one in a Grand prix or Z34. BTW, if they have any shifter cables there, grab them up because the dealer network has almost run out.

I am willing to buy some shifter cables for a 284 if you can score them, if you could let me know the price and maybe we can work something out

Wow I can't imagine what it must be like to have access to big yards that actually have 284's. Have you seen any GP's with the 284? I'm looking for the shifter bezel (with shift boot) for a GP with DIC as well as a GP shifter for my swap. As these items are unobtainable around here, I would make it worth your's (or anyone else's) trouble to dig these up for me.

i saw one gp 5 speed a while ago cuz i pulled parts off of it but its not still there but ill keep my eye out, and last time i was there i wasnt really looking because i was being rushed but i saw 2 cars with 282's and one was in the process of being pulled. does any other engine besides the 3.4TDC have the 284?

Yes .. I believe a few Chrysler Lebaron Maseratis had them .. Good luck with that I think 500 or 5000 Le Barons had em.

People claim the 282 will suffice, as its used in Fiero 3.4L applications .. But on the other hand, 282s have different gear ratios, axles etc.

Sorry to go off topic, but 93GTP, I do have a 5spd center console with the DIC unit. PM also sent, as I do have access to whatever else you mite need.

Okay thanks Birdman. I think I may be able to get what I need from Pepsi, but have an eye for the shifter bezel with the DIC opening and a shifter as well.
