TQ ratings?

well i have been doing some more searching and i found this the following. Although i have a question is it the enigne tq or the gear box tq that tells me how much the tranny can handle?

The headings for the chart are: (left to right) - Transaxle Weight, Engine Torque (lbs/ft), Gearbox Torque (lbs/ft), Gross Vehicle Weight, Overall Converter Diameter. - ALL ARE LISTED AS MAXIMUM SPECS
An example of the first on the list (TH-125) is 161lbs - 200lbs/ft - 316lbs/ft - 5100lbs - 9.64 inches

Zombie thread I was wondering how accurate the claim of the TH-125 gearbox TQ rating is.

it all depends on how healthy the 125 is.. your average junkyard / used trans would probably hold 160HP/180 TQ for a while.. Brand new/rebuilt might hold 200-220 ft/lbs if you never abuse it.

Six Shooter put a boosted 3400 infront of a healthy TH125 and blew the trans on the shakedown. It's pretty much a boat anchor.
