is this a custom intake?

I don't ever remember seeing an intake like this on a gen 2 setup. maybe it was the first design from gm and only in one model year? or is this custom?

I saw it in the grassroots motorsports for the $2014 challenge so I googled it and saw this intake on it and got curious.

I've never seen it before.... I think I know why:

that is the bottom side of a 2.8/3.1 plenum. looks like the owner trimmed out the sections of the plenum that weren't parts of the runners.

Yeah, it's just a gen2 intake that's had portions cut out and ground off. Nothing special about it, still flows just as poorly as the stock gen2 intake (assuming there was no porting work done).
