Is the turck LA1 really 185 hp?

Is the turck LA1 (3400) really 185 hp? I am currently looking at one from a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and was curious if it truely made more than the car verison....there are 3 verisons of that....170, 175, and 180.

I dunno, but from what I hear as well as looking on the various gm.com websites, the van engines have a bit more power. Maybe they have more room for better exhaust manifolds or something

Probabally just computer tuning. Remember that vehicles with different GVW's can have different emissions standards. So the van was probabally build with more power since it weighs more and yet still passes emissions.

But thats just a guess.
