No need for bigger injectors, a pos LTFT does not show that... if you were getting a very high duty cycle at WOT then yes you need larger ones.
My IFR is 278 since I'm running the 28lb MII ones, but I think my 65+ psi of pressure puts them to 30 at some times.

IFR is 280
28 lb fattie style 3800 series 1 injectors
43.5 psi for fuel pressure
i was gonna double check the fuel pressure but i got got out in the massive downpour yesterday and that pissed me off.
i changed the fuel filter yesterday. dont know if it helped but the one i had on was on there since 05.
ive got a set of 36lb series 3 injectors to use just gotta get the brackets from ben for the fuel rail.Last edited by geldartb; 07-08-2009, 10:09 AM.

Thats odd... What is your IFR set for and what injectors are you running? Fuel pressure?
My setup actually shows neg numbers with stock 3500 VE tables... I've just finished doing my VE and now I'm on to my MAF tune.
I think my injectors are flowing more than what I have my IFR set at so thats why I get neg numbers, You may be flowing less than what your IFR is set for.

this is the bin ive been working with. i still need to figure out exactly what's causing the high positive LTFT fuel trims.Originally posted by gectek View Postcan you pm me the file or email it to me. im interested to see what you came up with.
theres a bin and a quick scan from the same day. ive got a few, well 3 to be exact scans that are about 30 minutes long ill add up later gotta pull them off the laptop.
im getting no KR at all so its good in that area. still getting some hesistation on accel.
crusing the LTFT's are in the range of 15ish area but when i hit the gas they either zero out or go ever so slightly negative.
heres the 3 scans i was talking about. scan depot has a 1meg limit and they kinda come in over that.
there kinda long mainly because i forgot they were still loggingLast edited by geldartb; 07-07-2009, 05:17 PM.

i use DHP.
the tune didnt change from the before i took it apart and the time i put it back together. cant really say what did it but it sounds like a stock engine now, not the noisynes it was before.
i mean its still got the characteristics of the cam in the idle and whatnot but its quiet.
when i get to the store to get another $10+ battery for the camera ill get a video.

God I hope my lifters make my motor quieter... Hell it was quite when I first ran it... and now a year or so later it got louder.

it was torqued down to 105 before and with the same wrench.
i torqued it at 106 this time.
didnt change anything all the exact same parts except for the lim gaskets.

you and me both. i was almost to the point of putting a stock cam back in. i was just totally sick of screwing with it.
it took way longer but its finally at the point it should have been at to start.
kinda pisses me off about the video off the phone.
even with the lifters being empty it was still pretty quiet and then once it ran for a few and they filled up it went away and the only noise was the exhaust leak.
now i can begin the fun of tuning. that is after i get it reinspected.Last edited by geldartb; 06-27-2009, 10:26 PM.

thought id revive this epic thread and end it with an epic update.
well i tore apart the top end and retimed/retorqued the cam gear, also took apart the lifters and cleaned them out just cause.
but its all back together with metal 3500 lim gaskets and let me tell you its as quiet as i got a stock 3400 in there.
ill get a video up the end of the week. the one i took with my blackberry sucked hard.

did the lifters myself bought a brand new set off ebay for 70 bucks shipped and got the LT1 lifters from the junkyard for free.
all i did was what superdave recommended and swapped the 2 springs inside to my 3400 lifters.
its suppose to help a little bit with vac at idle. im still only pulling 7-8in vac at idle no leaks eaither
it took what seemed like forever to swap the springs seen as how i had to take apart 24 lifters.Last edited by geldartb; 03-10-2009, 04:27 PM.
