Does anyone have good luck with these lower intake gaskets with boost? Im using an 01 3100 topend and the gaskets seem to be plastic... My car had really high idle after i boosted it hard one day, The gaskets look good but how would you tell if theyre bad? they look plastic.. no sealer at all? Should i reuse the bolts for the 3rd time? I think theres a ton of washers on the bolts too... i dont know if that would affect the torque spec. Any help is appreciated , this is the last time im taking my motor out so that goes for the intake gasket as well.

Not this large, though. This is a pic of the metal gasket I'm talking about on top of a 3500 LIM I ported. You can clearly see the metal gasket is showing 1/2 of the red ring on the paper gasket. I got the 3400 gaskets to work on some 3400 heads I got. Just need to find a cheap big port 3400 IM set.

No, the metal UIM gasket came with the GM top end gasket kit for the 3500. The part number I gave is for big port 3100/3400's.Originally posted by 19Cutlass94 View Postwow thats strange you got metal UIM and I got the paper UIM. I think ive been screwed!

You are correct, I have a set of both the Felpro metal gaskets and 3500 GM stock gaskets here. I was hoping to be able to get the metal UIM gasket by itself to use with the 3400 stuff in the garage,Originally posted by El_Diablo View Postthe 3500 top end set also uses a metal LIM gasket if memory serves me correctly...

3500 LIM gaskets are plastic, the UIM is metal. There is no aftermarket gaskets for the 3500's yet.Originally posted by loner666 View Postreally? damnit..i wish i knew that before..the gasket Ben sent me for my 3500 top swap had plastic lower intake gaskets

I thought eldiablo was talking about the UIM gasket being metal in the 3500 set, even though it's clearly typed "LIM"Originally posted by loner666 View Postreally? damnit..i wish i knew that before..the gasket Ben sent me for my 3500 top swap had plastic lower intake gaskets
Here's a pic of a 3500 gasket set, I got the same one from GM...
