  • 3400 Tuning - ECM Compatability

I have a 3400 in my rockcrawling buggy that is currently using all the wiring and computer from a '96 Lumina APV. The engine has a decent amount of mods (ported 3500 heads and intake, custom cam, 65mm throttle body, headers) and it runs ok, but not right.

From what I have heard and read, HPT software can not tune my Lumina ECM. Is there any reason I can't swap my ECM out with one from a '97 Grand Prix so it can be tuned?

a '97 PCM from most GM's will directly plug into the '96 harness, and you can tune away . That is how my Olds is setup. Try to find one from a '97 minivan so at least you could run it as is for a little bit.
