Metallic Catylitic Converters?

I have had a Metal 'Cat (same idea as the one in the link above) on my car for several years. No fowl smells, but we don't have emissions testing here, so I can't comment that. I got it mainly because my car has very low ground clearance (3" from the ground to the front subframe) and the cat is a nice small package.Matt

Only visual inspection here to make sure you have a cat. No tailpipe test.
Is it worth the extra money? Looks like it might flow more and not clog or ever fail.sigpicNew 2010 project (click image)

Why does it look like it wont clog?? it appears that it could clog just as easy... Looks very similar to a regular cat intside.

I have on right now for sale it is 3" though 50 plus shipping if anyone wants it. The are basically like a resonator that gets rid of some COx. I have used them before and they do work really well for flow but they are not as good as a normal cat. So if you are close on emissions then back away.

Well it's metal instead of ceramic, so the chances of it busting up is less, and it appears the cells are bigger.
I did some reading and they do flow a tiny bit more, and are more resistant to heat (the ceramic ones use a cheap ceramic that isn't high temp like most ceramics) so they work well if you are boosted and running rich.
Younggun88, if it wasn't 3" I'd take it. I'm not boosted so I don't need that large. Thanks though.sigpicNew 2010 project (click image)

yeah the cells are a little bigger. There a 200cell per square inch. I dont know what the stock ones are. They claim 534CFM...
But they are quite expensive. I bought mine for like $200. You can try ebay or something to that sort and you might find one alot cheaper.sigpic

Not sure how that would affect exhaust velocity though by slowing it down with the large cavity causing turbulence. What brand is yours?sigpicNew 2010 project (click image)
