  • Just Purchased NOSzle kit

Well I just picked up a noszle kit for my Fiero. Not cheap by any means. Summit carries them for $1200.

I have a poor quality pic right now(camera phone) but will get better ones posted soon.

Plan to run a 70-80 shot to start off and see how it goes. Get some dyno runs and tuning done to make sure she holds togethor.

Either way it should be fun.

I plan on keeping the nitrous system I have currently on the car intact as I think I am going to use it as a dual stage setup. Use the direct port noszle system for the initial off the line hit and then the dry kit up top when the torque starts to drop off to help give me a broader power curve.

I predict mid 13's should be possible. We shall see. either way its going to be a blast.

why get a noszle when you are only wanting to run a 80 shot???? a single fogger jet can support 80 hp and is a shit ton cheaper (however the noszle looks fucking cool)

Went with the noszle cause of the distribution. Its more even to each cylinder so less chance of a cylinder running lean and will make more power with a direct port as the nitrous is closer to the valve. Closer to the valve and I can inject less nitrous as it will be denser then if injected way upstream in the intake before the TB.

Plus I didnt' feel like drilling and tapping my intake manifold. This is easy to go on and take off if I ever decide to sell it.

some crap pics but will have better ones shortly

so are you making a spacer plate or something to go inbetween the upper and lower intake manifolds??
IIRC the nossle system fits under the injectors. which WILL raise the fuel rail up... the fuel rail is pretty tightly close to the upper intake...

or do those Nossles act like replacement injectors?

Your lucky, wish I could afford that. I would turn my 150 shot into a 175 or 200shot. On stock internals mind you.

Yeah thats what i thought. so the plenum will have to be moved upwards to clear room for the nossles added in under the rail.

The noszles do raise the fuel injectors up a bit but I have no idea if they put them in contact with the underside of the upper intake manifold. This setup is untested as far as 60 degrees go. I have a custom intake setup so I dont' have to worry about the fuel rail sitting higher.

I do have a 3100 intake setup laying here and what I can do is setup the intakes and the fuel rail with the noszles installed and see if the fuel rail fits. If so then this will open the door for many other 60 degree'rs out there that want to go this route but dont' want to spend the money to only find out it won't fit. I will find out for sure. I guess I am just nice like that.

Here are some more pics. Its a bit dark but I wanted to get a full shot of all the compenents.

oh im not saying they wont work, i mean what i would do is buy some phenolic material about 1/4 or 3/8ths thick (maybe thicker?? you'll find out how much you have to make room for) and trace out the upper gasket, make a set of spacers to gain the extra clearance that might be needed. and the benefit of phenolic is that its a heat barrier as well.. or you could just make some spacers out of aluminum.
either way thats what i'd do.

should be a pretty cool setup once your done. you'll have to post pics and progress.

V6 HO. Bascially waht I was saying is that I am going ot test fit these with a 3100 intake so that you might not have to make spacers. If you dont' have to make spacers then even better yes? But if the fuel rail does not fit under the 3100 plenum with the noszles in then it will solve the question if they will fit and if spacers will be needed. I will keep everyone updated and have more pics of install.

                      SOME NEW PICS

Here are pics of the 3100 gen 3 intake with the noszles installed. You can see that the intake will not fit now. One will have to make spacers in order to use this system. I am guessing about 1 inch or so. Yes the intake is on backwards in relation to the thermo housing but I dont' think it would have made a difference anyways.

Hope this settles it. Or most of it anyways.

hmmmm... i wondered how much they'd come up.
yeah stab a spacer in there and your all good to go! should be a sweet system!

some new developments in the noszle fiasco. I had taken the test pics of the gen 3 setup just for those that were curious even though I didnt' plan to use the system on a gen 3 setup.

I was going to use it on my Fiero with the iron head setup. Well unfortuneately it won't work. I need a custom fuel rail in order for this to work. REason being is that the noszles change the geometry of the injectors in the one peice fuel rail. Thereby making it impossible for the injectors to line up. A custom fuel rail would have to be made. It would prob be easiest to have a 2 peice rail made like the gen 3 have if you want to use on an iron head engine. Here are some pics of what I mean

Oh yea. I guess I will sell this system. If you know anyone with a late model mustang who wants a noszle kit or if you would like it for a gen 3 setup(which i think would still work with the spacers in the intake) I would like to get $800 for it.

Its all complete except for some extra nitrous jets. However for a mustang it comes with jets for a 100 shot, and for a v6 setup its jetted for 50 hp jump.

Pics of the kit can be viewed at the top of the page.

                              THanks
