Agreed. Gaskets don't just start leaking for no reason. Even if your under boost they wont be damaged unless you have detonation issues.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

It's 9.6:1 SCR. 13 psi boost/propane. ARP Studs, GM 3400 gaskets. I checked the heads and deck with a straight edge and spent hours cleaning and finishing the surfaces.Originally posted by ForcedFirebird View PostYeah, but isnt the OP running 14:1 SCR, supercharged on propane? I can see why the stock gaskets are failing.
ssdurango, are you using head studs? That will help a ton.
There is light milky residue on the dip stick and light steam from the oil fill cap again. The coolant isn't going down noticibly yet.....maybe my big K&N under the cowl has been sucking in rain water...

Two things, The heads should really be checked at a shop where they have better tools to ensure they are perfectly flat. I wouldnt trust just a straight edge. And have you done a compression/leak down test? If not then I wouldn't 100% say the HG are leaking quite yet. You could have condensation issues with the fact that the propane injection is so cool the bottom side of the intake is causing water to collect. Also with a HG going out you will get coolant into your cylinders first and notice huge power losses and or steem from the exhaust and a noticable smell before you get enough in your oil to notice it that way... Unless you blew out a coolant port into a oil drain hole through the block, but I doubt it. Lots of mixing cooant and oil would point to a LIMG failure over the HG.Originally posted by ssdurango View PostIt's 9.6:1 SCR. 13 psi boost/propane. ARP Studs, GM 3400 gaskets. I drove a car with a leaking HG from Lebanon Valley NY home to CT and did not have any oil/water mixing. It would just consume water when the system was under pressure, and when parked it would be seeping into a cylinder so when fired up you would get a cloud of white smoke.

just regular condensation can do that but it'll go away.

my car has done this before too. could just be condensation like superdave saidOriginally posted by ssdurango View PostWell, I'm not using any coolant, thats a releif. Maybe my headgaskets are fine still. - Just don't know where the milky residue came from...but it's gone now.Last edited by scott0999; 06-27-2010, 11:38 AM.'94 Cavalier Z24 3400 Turbo 5 spd
