For you guys running your engines up to 6500-7000rpm, what sort of changes have you made to your valvetrain? I know some of you guys have the LS1/LS6 springs swap, but is there anything else?

Hey Wolf! Have you dyno'd your 3.4? I'd like to know what sort of figures that setup would get you. (Sounds sweet)

What about people running the 3X00 heads? Do you use mech. or hyd. cams? Stock of aftermarket rockers?

I have a completely stock bottom end, stock compression, etc.... Crane H-260 Cam/Lifters, .427/210 Intake, .454/216 Exhaust, stock pushrods, stock rocker arms, Rebuilt 3100 heads with valve job. I turn mine to my 6200rpm limiter, but it still wants to pull at that point, so I want to raise the limiter to 6500. I'm probably going to get some better valvesprings before I do so, I also have some Comp Cams 1.6 roller tip rockers in my garage that I will be putting in (bringing lift up to .455" Intake and .484" Exhaust) in the very near future.

I don't have a block yet, I am waiting so when I go back to the states I can get the engine with the full 3yr warrantie and not waste a year or more from it just sitting.
I will run about a 8.8:1 to 8.9:1 because of the volume added to my chambers. And it's going to be an FI engine.

What is the benefit of having 1.6:1 roller rockers for the intake, and 1.52:1 roller rockers for the exhaust?

Wouldn't you want 1.52 or 1.6 for all of them? Why would you mis-match the set?

I'm not downing it, just trying to understand. I'm wondering if that's something I should do?

I'm trying to improve mid to upper RPM power in my 3.2 (V6/60 with 3.1 crank / rods in a 2.8 with .040 overbore pistons). I am using a stock 2.8 Fiero Intake manifold.. ported with the throttle body 47 up to 52mm and I've smoothed out the side and tried to enlarge the inside as best as I could.

I'm also considering using the H272 cam. Or the 260.. not sure which yet.

                            Thanks!!

                              youd be suprised
there are even SBC build combinations where it is better to have different ratio rockers on different cylinders
                              odd as it might seem
