However, "INCREASED RATIO WITH STANDARD STUD DIAMETER, CLEARS 1.630" O.D. SPRINGS THE 1988-99 ENGINES EQUIPPED WITH SELF-ALIGNING ROCKER ARMS REQUIRE THE INSTALLATION OF PUSHROD GUIDEPLATES (AND 99157-16 ROCKER ARM STUDS, IF APPLICABLE) AND APPROPRIATE HEAT TREATED PUSHRODS IN ORDER FOR THESE ROCKER ARMS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. VALVE COVER CLEARANCE MUST ALSO BE CHECKED IN LATE MODEL APPLICATIONS."
Would have to have rocker arm trunion width's to know for sure. I'm assuming that they are talking about valve cover clearance due to the centerbolt v'covers' however it could be due to the 1.7 ratioColin

Summit says the body style is "Standard" so that would ean wide body. Narrow body is always specified on Summits site.

Sorry dont know. The old 3.8L however used regular SBC rockers. Dont know about the new ones though. I know someone makes 1.7 Rockers for the 3800 but I think they are a completly different size now.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

It apears they are self aligning. They sit on a guide bar much like GM's Vortec engines1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
