What are some good parts, (with PO#'s if possible) For full out ignition, like coils, plugs, wires, moduals, anything that will make a difference, for a 2000 3400SFI 60^V6. Thanks

Keep the stock coils. Aftermarket coils just seem to cause issues for people. No aftermarket modules (ICM) available. Plugs.. meh, whatever is to your liking. I think most around here will recommend Delco Rapidfires. There is the MSD DIS-4, but it really doesn't help much unless you plan on running nitrous or you want improved gas mileage. For wires, I recommend Magnecor (www.magnecor.com).

      Thanks..

Regarding Injectors, Fuel Rail, Fuel Pump etc... Basically, before I can afford a Huge motor job (I can afford to do it, but it wouldnt be smart at the time, I got other things that came up, so I wanna do it later), and everything Im thinking more realisticly.. Imma do suspension, and rims/tires, but I wanna do Light bolt ones untill motor gives me trouble.

      Fuel System
      Throttle body
      PCM
      Ignition

      Other lil do-dads.

      Thanks again

We (Lloyd and I) Just had a MSD Failure. He contacted them and they said it will be a Max charge of $260 to fix. If it is any more they will junk it. You DO NOT get your money back or a new box. It is too bad so sad.

Honestly its a shame. MSD is suposed to be this amazing company and they wont help out. The ignition is only 2 years old too. It is a complete internal falure of the box. The manager Lloyd spoke to said they have a 1% failure rate. That is F'n crap. 1% is TERRIBLE. For ever 100 units out the door 1 fails. That is completly unacceptable. In my opinion he should get a new box regardless of warranty if they know they have a failure rate that high.

Lloyd also had an MSD Coil fail under warranty. So out of the 3 products he bought (Wires, Coils and DIS4) 2 failed. Honestly quite a shame.

I would suggest Magnecor wires and NGK or Delco iridium plugs. If someone else has a DIS ignition maybe give it a shot. I am very pleased with my Crane ignition. Pertronics makes amazing products too.

BTY, 1% is actually lower than industry standards from what I have seen. I know from personal experiance that that some industries budget on a 3 - 5% failure rate, which IMO is too high.

I've never had a problem with anything MSD, on my own vehicles, just recently however, I have had a coil for an Escort fail, but the DIS-2 is still going strong.

the dis4 seems to be getting a pretty bad rep. my buddy had one fail after a week so he got rid of it. ive heard of some people having problems. the dis2 (4 cyl) i havent heard anything but good about em.

Yea there is alot more on the MSD board who are fairly pissed too.

A 1% failure rate is not acceptable to me. Sorry but if I 1% of my welds failed then I would be fired.

Also we have Pro MAG 44's on our Alcohol dragster and they have failed before their expected life aswell. We however we do not send them to MSD. We send them to a rebuilder who makes it better and stands behind his work!

I have an MSD DIS-4 on my car. I haven't put a lot of miles on it yet, but no problems so far. I have had the MSD coils on my car for a long time with no problems. Neither of those is really necessary though. Only reason I got the MSD is because I'm running a cam and bigger injectors. The low rpm multiple spark should help the idle and fuel economy. The higher spark power at high rpm may or may not help combustion with the higher cylinder pressures I see with boost. For plugs and wires I use denso iridiums and taylor wires, and both have worked well for me so far.

As for the fuel system... stock rails provide plenty of flow and there's no alternative parts anyway. Injectors, there are several you can use, but you need to be able to tune the pcm for them of course. You won't need to change them though until you start aproaching the 220whp mark. Same with the fuel pump... you can get a walbro 255lph in tank pump that can be installed with some small modification to the stock tank... but you won't need it until you reach some serious power levels using either boost or nitrous.
