  • My Dyno Sheet (requested)

Ok, here is the dyno sheet.

    The info is as follows....

    1. 7 psi run, boost controller was not active (otherwise, it would have spooled much faster)
    2. Plugs were fouled (from the previous day of street tuning), so we couldn't get it too rev past 6000 without missing.
    3. The fuel tune still sucks, I'd like too see it at 12.0:1 not 11.0:1

We have run the boost as high as 20 psi on the current setup. I technically can run more, but there are other issues that are a problem, axles, traction, tranny, etc.

I Really never street race the car. I simply can't launch on street tires, but have done a few stupid things like going way too fast on the highway, which is too easy too do I might add.

What kind of chassis are you looking to upgrade/replace the engine into?

Looking into an MG GT or even a 1st Gen RX-7. those are probably the top current choices. There was a good condition body shell of a 73 MG GT locally, but it went for too much (considering it had no interior, glass, suspension, etc).

An MG will fly with your motor in it.

There is even a 2.8/3.1 motor mount/tranny mount installation kit for the MG GT too. It might be a little tight too fit dual T3's in there, but I want too definately try.

Yes, there are kits available for both RWD & FWD motors. I ended up making my own for a Gen II 3.1. There might even be room for your T3's if you're creative.

The only real clearance issue I see is with the steering shaft, getting a downpipe there as well as the manifold for the turbo. I could also simply do a single turbo setup, put the turbo on the passenger's side, and simply crossover under the oil pan. I'd rather do a TT setup if I can fit it, though.

If you want traction, swap over to a Fiero. It's not as light as some of the other options, but you will have absolutely no problem putting power down. Fieros hook better than just about anything else RWD. Guys with Cadillac 4.9's + auto tranmissions (get out of 60' in 1st gear) cut 1.7 short times on street tires.
                            Current:
\'87 Fiero GT: 12.86@106 - too dam many valves; ran 12.94 @ 112 on new engine, then broke a CV joint
\'88 Fiero Formula: slow and attention getting; LZ8 followed by LLT power forthcoming
\'88 BMW 325iX: The penultimate driving machine awaiting a heart transplant

                            Gone, mostly forgotten:
\'90 Pontiac 6000 SE AWD: slow but invisible

Issue with a Fiero would still be the transmissions. The HM-282 isn't going too cut it, the auto's are expensive too get rebuilt and still no LSD, and the axles would still break. I'd have too swap too a NSX tranny if I wanted a manual (like West Coast Fiero sells) and spending 4000-5000 on a tranny, no thanks.
