Don't the factory ones come with a rubber insulator where the coil packs connect? Why wouldn't MSD included a rubber inulator if the product is better than stock?

They came with all the kits I bought
They came in all the kits I bought. With the new coils and with the interface blocks. If they didn't come with them then they must have been opened packages.

I had the MSD 8224 coils on my car. Ive had them for about 2.5 years and last week one of the coils took a dump on me. I did use new seals & grease. Just poor luck.

Nope. On my car the coils are just bolted to the ignition module. They did have some heat transfer paste under them (like the stuff they use on computers) but no rubber or foam insulators of any kind from the factory.Originally posted by korbendallas68Don't the factory ones come with a rubber insulator where the coil packs connect? Well, I bought all my stuff from summit. Coils, adapters, DIS4... they don't come together as a kit though. They are all packaged seperately. Neither the coils or the coil adapters came with any kind of foam insulator. All new un-opened packages too. Summit doesn't sell opened stuff. Thats weird they weren't in any of mine. I wonder if it's something they just recently started including? I bought them about 2 years ago.'97 Grand Prix GT 3800 (sold)

I had been so busy I forgot to get some pictures for you guys to see what they look like. When I get the chance I'll take them. There redish orange in color. and they require three. one per coil.

Re: They came with all the kits I bought
No they are sold seperatly, reason being not every DIS vehicle uses the GM coil, hence why it's called a GM DIS two tower coil.Originally posted by AaronGTROriginally posted by HayesPerformanceThey came in all the kits I bought.
