    My 3400 Fiero swap plans

As indicated in my previous post, I am in the process of swapping an unmodified 2005 Impala 3400 with 4t65e automatic into my 86 Fiero. I’m comfortable with the mechanical aspects of the swap, but I would greatly appreciate some guidance up front as to the pcm. Can I use the stock pcm and appropriately modified wiring from the 05 Impala? Or is there a better option from another car?

Ben will probably chime in as well, but using the stock ECM, or a 93 ECM (I don't remember the part number, but I feel like it ends in 396) which should be able to be programmed to control the tranny would probably be your best bet. You're not going to want to use the PCM from the 2005.

Thanks. No problem getting another one, but just out of curiosity, what’s wrong with the 2005 unit?
