    EGR Cap off (brass?)

Is brass going to melt on the rear exhuast manifold? I deleted my EGR and I found a cap off that may fit that is brass. I looked online and the melting point of brass is 1652-1724 degree's fahrenheit. Does it get anywhere near this temp?

I have had a brass plug in my exhaust manifold for several years with no problems.

I personally wouldn't use brass unless it was combined with another substance to increase the boiling point because I honestly think that the temps could exceed 1200*F at that rear exhaust manifold (EGR exhaust hole NOT INTAKE manifold) . With brass having a melting point of 16XX*F, heat could distortion the bolt some to make it leak or not last long down there.
