Tranny question

Ok. I am doing a OBDII swap in my 95 GTP. The car I got the harness and PCM is a 97 Monte Carlo Z34. Will my 4T60-E work with the 97 PCM? I have been told yes by a few people because it is basically the same with some extra sensors and now I am hearing it will not work at all unless I put a 4T65-E in my car. Is this true?

I cannot see why not, just probably have to modify the pcm to not see all the 65-e electronic trans settings.
