Does anyone know how to figure which number my car was off the assembly line from the VIN? The dealer we got it from told us that it was one of the first 1500 made, but I never checked that out. If anyone knows the codes or an address to send to GM for the info I would appreciate it.
A question about the VIN on my 3.4

The last 6 digits of the VIN should be the assembly line number. So in your case, 001453 would be the 1,453th car to come off the line that year.-Brad-

Well the salesman lied! LOL! She's #102192. If I read your information correctly then that guy fed us a load of bull. Although I wonder how many completed models they produced before shipping them to dealers. Thanks for all the information.

This leads me back to one of the parts of my orignal question. Does anyone have contact information to get in touch with GM to decipher your VIN?

The last six digits of my VIN are 102192, the approximate purchase date was late july or early august of 1994.
Can you tell me from this information what number off the assembly line my car was?

2191st car off the line. I know Monte Carlos and Luminas were built at the same plant, but whether they were numbered consecutively is not known to me. They probably weren't so it's doubtful there's a 1995 Lumina with the same last 6 digits as yours. You definitely have one of the first Monte Z34s made and likely one of the first 1500 Monte Carlos made.
The last 3 cars made before yours were also Monte Z34s and then the car built before them was a Lumina.Last edited by 1994KlrWhaleOlds; 08-26-2008, 06:51 PM.

Thank you for that. I was remembering something that happened about a week after we bought the car. GM called us to find out how much we liked the car and asked us if we would mind if they kept track of the car when we took it to the dealer for any work it may need. In the entire time I have bought GM products I have never heard of anyone else getting a call like this. It probably has I just have never heard of it.Last edited by 95z34MonteCarlo; 08-27-2008, 06:39 AM.
