    96GTP Trans Shot

    Well I have been having some issues lately with what has felt like slippage in the trans.

    I was hoping it was only the AT Vac Modulator, so I swapped that out, but no change.

    And now the TRANS doesnt like to go to far in reverse. When in drive it is slipping so bad I dont even like to pull out into on coming traffic anymore.

    So now I am going to be on the hunt for a trans and maybe do a rebuild to it.
    I dont know what this means but "ASS HATS" is funny

      OK People I need some help here.

      What cars and engine combos have the same Tranny as my 1996 GTP?

          I could be wrong, but I think you can get a tranny from any 95~96 W-body that has the auto. Other then that I don't think they were used in much else. Also I don't think the older W-bodies will work for you either due to the differences with OBD-I.

              95 and 96

              96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

                  To have the same gear ratio you must use a trans from a 3.4l DOHC W -body. Not a lot of options.
