What would happen if.....

I have a post in the DOHC maint. forum about an off-idle hesitation i'm having and had another quick, semi-related-but-not-enough-to-clutter-the-other-post queston. Lol. WHat would happen if I unplugged the EGR valve and ran the car? This would be done for troubleshooting purposes. Would the car run for sh*t, would it even run, or would it compensate and NOT use the EGR valve?

i belive egr isnt used at idle. just when load is detected.

I have had my EGR completely disconnected for 20k miles now. (not the connector, just the plumbing)

I was gonna bypass it in summer, but was wondering specifically about removing the connector and starting the car.

Its not a DOHC, but when it comes to EGRs I don't think it matters... I haven't had an EGR anywhere near my car for over a year and I drive it everyday w/o any issues. Every now and again it'll pop an SES, but not very often.
