AIR removal

i have asked this question before but never got an answer and cant find any info on it. what would it involve to get rid of the AIR system on my gp? i know id have to run a different belt and plug the holes but how would i get the ses light to not come on and is there anything else i would have to do? also, is it worth it or just a waste of time. by worth it i mean will i gain anything besides not having all that extra junk on my engine and not having to deal with that annoying noise it makes.

First off, I don't think there's a belt issue involved as the pump is electrical. Second, from what I see on the forums, people do this whitout a problem. No codes or anything like that. My understanding is that dispite what is said about supplying fresh air to complete combustion, what they really do is dilute the exhaust gases to lower the hydrocarbon ppm.

it is to lower hc's and i forgot about it being all electrical. im used to how my 86 camaro's was. i guess ill unplug it and see what happens. its supposed to throw a PO140 code i think.

If it's electrical, how would it benefit you? You probably can't hear it, and don't use the "parasitic lag on the alternator" excuse, because so is that big stereo you have in there, but I bet your not thinking of taking that out.

If you pull it out you won't have any problems. My car doesn't have it connected and I have no problems here. I might take it out eventually.
