What is the screwed in sensor on the 96 oil pan?

Oil level? Is it too low in the pan to use as a turbo oil return?

Quick way to tell if it could be used for a return would be fill the pan with at least 4L water or something and see if it comes up to that level or not. If your still below or just at least only within a 1/2 litre or whatnot of the hole and the fluid level I'd use it for the Turbo oil return for sure.

that sensor is at teh bottom of the pan so you cant use it. best way would to do what colin said. it has to drain a little above the oil level.
