Monte Carlo and GP ECM

Are they the same? I want to use the Monte Carlo ECM because it is in better condition than the one in my 95 GP. I yanked it out of a 95 Monte Carlo with a 3.4L. If I just swap out the chip would it all work fine?

Count the number of pins and compare it to your ECU pin count.
If it matches up, swap your chip on over.

Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.
