I know the N-body's is a no. not sure about the other body styles.N-body enthusiast:

im pretty sure in the 91 w bodys, the 8th digit in the vin is the engine code, and in my car its an x for lq1GM Goodwrench Tech - GM Certified

An 'X' in the 8th digit for all W-bodies 91 thru 95 designates the LQ-1.

I would assume the same. The only reason I asked the question in the first place, was a guy had a 94 Monte, he said had a 3.1. The VIN had the infamous "X" in it. Car's gone, so mine is a mute point.If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.
