    3,4 DOHC "X" timing belt

Timing belt failed on off ramp. Automatic "X" generation. Heard various opions if any valves bent. 93 Olds cutlass supreme. Dont want to spend time or money if heads need to come off. Solid car worth saving..

The 3.4 is an interference motor. Chances are 50/50 on bent valves. I bought a VERY nice GTP for $500 because the timing belt broke and his mechanic told him his valves were surely bent. NOT. I put a new timing belt in and sold the car for $2200 a week later.

Yea, was a gorgeous GTP. Wish I'd have kept it. Guy bought it for his kid who ended up hot rodding it and blowing the motor up a month later.
Not to hijack your thread but a couple pics of it.

They are only interference if the heads have been decked massively or the belt went at high RPMs.
