Found a support bar on a 92 Grand Prix SE with the 284 in it. The bar is solid 1/2" and goes from the upper engine mount bolt on the chassis side, down to the lower bolt that is 1 of 4 that holds the battery support to the chassis. I took it off to see what it may do and it looks like absolutely nothing but a brace? I have no idea why GM would put this on the car it's not on mine. I took it off and is now sitting in my garage as I paid free dollars for it. Any of you guys have this on your cars??

Yes,
its a 5spd "thing"
It's listed as:
"BRACE, Eng Mt Strut Brkt..............(LQ1,M27) #10192639"
I wouldn't remove it though cause it was designed to help brace the engine from the extra torque, I would replace it with a more stronger one though....1991 Grand Prix STE
