    Alternator on a 5 speed

So I haven't posted here in years! I'm pretty active on W body, but I need help. I followed the write ups and have done some research on doing this and it's not too painful. I owned my cutlass for 6 years and know a decent amount about the 3.4, but this is my first time attempting an alternator job. Currently I have the cradle bolts out and the tie rod off and swung out of the way. The alternator is loose (per the previous owner) but I can't get it past the cv shaft. I really didn't want to take the shaft out to get to it, so I was wondering if anyone has any other tips or tricks.

supposedly theres a bracket that I can unbolt to give me room. I'll try that, and post my progress.
