My z34 idles rough and seems to miss. There is a strong gas smell coming from the exhuast and it is getting poor gas milege. I pulled all the plugs and check the compression and got 140, 150, 160, 140, 155, 140. The 3rd cylinder the one by the oil fill cap had a plug that was black but had a compression of 160 and the rest were white. I wire brushed the plug off and traded it with a different cylinder and it still idles bad. I pulled my intake off and there was oil in the intake and on the filter so I got a new PCV valve and filter but it still put oil into the intake. I also changed the fuel filter. Im not sure whats going any ideas?

Sounds like you have a bad coil. When a coil goes bad, 2 spark plugs will not fire. This causes raw gas to be exhausted out the pipe and a miss in the engine. I had a coil that went bad intermenttly until it went out completly.93 Lumina Z34

Today I tested to see if the injector was getting info from the computer and it is. I think it could be that the injector is bad. There is spark to all the spark plugs. I am going to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it.1994 Lumina Z34Comment
