    Engine Teardown Help needed

    I know there is a trick to everything, just haven't figured this one out yet. How do you get this dang blasted thing off.

    There seems to be a pattern there.

    pull the gear off
    then the retainer plate
    then pull it out just like a cam

      I dont remember exactly what bolts you use, but Im pretty sure its head bolts or main bolts. I might have used some bolts out of the KentMoore 3.4 kit.

        the bolts I used from the kent moore kit were self-tapping. Be patient.

          Ok then I know what I did.. I used a Tap the same size as main cap bolts which is M11 x 1.5, then just threaded in the bolts. I think the puller and bolt kit was missing from the KentMoore set I had.

          I actually would advise anyone rebuilding a 60º block to get an M11x1.5 tap, you use it to clean out the head bolt and main cap bolt holes.
