I was looking for the numbers a couple of weeks ago. Ben said that it was intake advanced 4 and exhaust retarded 4.

appreciate it. thanx. so then what would u guys speculate on a 5 degree retard on intake and a 1 degree retard on exhaust would yield?

what i am looking for are these 91-95(96) specs on 97 cams -1 in and -5 ex in cam degrees. so would the above adjustments net that based on the specs joeyb gave?

or should i leave the in advance where it is and go -2.5 on the ex to yield a total of -6.5 ex and see what happens with the +4 in already in place?

you have -4 already in place for exhaust cam. So another -2.5 = -6.5 for exhaust cam.

        GO for it!!

Has anyone compared cam timing set on a stone cold engine. Then rechecked on a hot engine. Just wondering if there is enough growth in the aluminum heads and carriers for a measurable change in timing for the rear cams.

Tried out my new cam timing tool today.
A major improvement on the bottom end!!
Assuming there is a factory +4 int & -4 exh. already set from factory.

My settings by the new cam tool:
intake +2 (which is +4 crank degrees) then add in the factory +4 = +8 total

exhaust -2 (which is -4 crank degrees) then add in the factory -4 = -8 total

            So: +8 intake
            -8 exhaust

            Correct if im wrong.

only thing i am not sure of is the original +4i -4e whether or not it is in crank or cam degrees. if it is in crank degrees then you are correct if not it is now +12i -12e which seems a bit unlikely so i will assume you are correct. perhaps some1 will chime in for sure on the actual answer.

probably not what you are looking for but it is all i have.
