    What procedure did you use?
First time I did it according to the Haynes manual, by rotating the engine to a given location, then tightening the valves to a given torque spec, plus a half turn (or something like that)

Second time I did the same.

Third time I took a spare valve cover, cut a hole in it, and adjusted the valves by ear. This worked the best so far.

Pshh, too far! two hours and some change. A Maryland meet would be fun though, someone should throw a BBQ, I wouldn't mind driving for that.

2 hours? It says you're in Silver Spring. Fort Washington is only 45 minutes away. I can make it to Rockville hooters and Laurel Hooters in 45 minutes. BTW, a couple of Monte Carlo guys are meeting at Laurel hooters on sunday. Just thought i'd share that bit of info.

Haha, awesome, I trusted google maps for the time. If you'd like to come over sometime and check this thing out, you're more then welcome, perhaps you might be able to figure out the source of my "valve tick"

Maybe I can listen to your engine to see if it sounds similar.

        Free dinner :P

I'm no mechanical wiz, but I'm down for free dinner and a look at the cheVdub.

          I've got valvetrain noise too.
