Hey everyone I'm a 99' alero owner from canada. got a 3400 v6 with tonnes of mods. just heard about this site over on aleromod.com and figured I should join. glad to find some domestic enthusiasts out there.

99 olds alero, ported and polished intake manifolds, gasket matched, pcm flash, governor removed (not for street racing, thats stupid), short ram intake, magnaflow cat back exhaust, custom interior, underglow lighting, subtle exterior mods and custom badging, lightwieght pulleys, forged crankshaft and pistons. thinkin bout a light shot of nitrous or a fogger system as it is cheaper than a turbo and im pretty sure my current setup can handle it.

If your stuff is forged, you should be fine. Just remember when the bottle is empty the fun is over till you get it refilled. In the long run a turbo might be cheaper depending on the shot of juice you give it and how often as well. Once you bolt a turbo on there and get it tuned, it's always there at the flick of your foot.

good point, im thinking it might be worth waiting a couple months and bolting on some permenant power. plus nos is pretty hard on an engine forged or not.

Tell me more about your longblock. Heads stock? Whats your compression with ur new pistons and where did you get a forged crank?

I'd say go nitrous first and later you might decide u want a turbo.

Zex #82021 is a bolt on nitrous kit.

I would say it is only hard on your engine if you overdo it. I read a book on power adders once and in the N20 section they said "Nitrous doesn't kill engines, stupid people kill engines." That was paraphrasing of course, but you get the idea
