    Can't let MG's have all the fun.

    Hi, I've got a 1968 Datsun Roadster, I'm currently prepping it for a motor swap.. I know its gonna be some type of GM 60* v6 not sure yet on which one yet 100% as the motor that will be in it.. So I'll be lurking and reading more.

    3500's are getting readily available, and Dave has gotten 270whp N/A with his...

    I have been regularly looking for a 210 (for the right price, of course) for a 60* swap

      I have a 1973 240Z that I plan to install a 3500 in. I have the 3500 on a stand, but just did a bunch of work turbocharging the 2.8L in it, so I'm going to run with it for a year or two, while I build the 3500, unless I blow up the 2.8L(s) that I have then a 3500 will be going in sooner.

          I'm not sure on the motor size just yet, I've got an old 2.8L I can have but its got an auto which would have to be replace as I wont drive an automatic car.

            Nice! A diamond in the rough. Is the car a unibody or does it have a frame under it? Looks like you have plenty of room for one of our V6's in the engine compartment. Looks like a fun project. How long do you think it will take to get it on the road?

              Frame, those pictures a little out of date. I'm waiting on better weather as I'm pulling the body off the frame to make this swap easier. lol

                Cool! I like those old Datsuns.

                Kind of sorta maybe halfway unrelated perhaps, I've pondered swapping a 60v6 into my '84 Nissan pickemuptruck.

                  I'd consider selling my perfect '81 Isuzu I-Mark Diesel to get a Datsun 510 and a 60º swap. But I can't do that until I get the title sorted out on the I-Mark anyway...

                    Do it. You can use an Isuzu 4x4 Tranny, they're tough and have the 60º bell housing. Which side is your front driveshaft on?

                    Or is it a 2wd? Can get an Isuzu tranny from a 91-92 2wd Rodeo.

                      At the risk of drawing fire for hijacking the thread...

                      I don't remember which side the front driveshaft is on, but it's kind of irrelevant - it's got a divorced transfer case.

                      And now back to your regularly scheduled topic... Datsun roadster with a 60v6!
