    Opinions?

Before I laquer the lettering in permanently, how do you think it looks? I'm going to do the same on the other cover as well...

I don't like it either. The lettering with the swirls just looks cheesy. Doesn't look like it belongs on an car or engine or anything mechanical for that matter.

I don't like the text either.

If putting any lettering on I'd go with silver if using the blue covers. Then as far as the text goes, here are some ideas:

        "207 Turbo"
        "Forced Firebird"

I think those are pretty cool. I understand the feeling of wanting to show off it's got 3500 parts but anyone that has seen v6 fbody motors before will know something is up, and be scratching their head anyways when they look at it.

I think I've already changed my mind and am going to do a GM logo in white.

Yeah it will discolor. You could cut GM out of aluminum foil too maybe and laquer that.

I still like "207 Turbo" has a nice ring to it. I would paint the letters though, like I did my plenum. I laid the text color down first, then masked it with sticky label printer paper, then sprayed the black and lifted the mask to reveal the letters.

I saw it on TGO (Thirdgen.org V6 forum), I believe it was posted by GrimmCS (member here as well).

I re-did it by taping a GM logo and spraying it with white. Since the paint I used is translucent (pics don't do it justice), I re-sprayed it again with the blue giving it a ghost effect. My UIM is already polished by the previous owner and is going to get the same translucent paint. It's made by Duplicolor and is called "Metalcast". It's a two part process where you spray a silver coat first (if the metal isn't polished), and then the "anodizing paint".

                    Again pics don't do justice...

                    Here's what I started with...

Here's after the cleaning (was tempted to laquer them like this)...

I will get pics when I do the other one, I had two tattoos to do tonight for some extra cash, and ran out of time. The other side is getting a much larger logo, since it will fit better without the oil fill location.

Cool, glad my work is good enough that others are showing it off!! haha

My front valve cover is a super smooth cast. Hitting it with 800 grit and then polish would be all I need but I opted for black.

Can you get a zoomed out shot of the GM logo to get an overall idea? Which side is that valve cover going on? Drivers side I would assume. Should be pretty cool. Since your car is black I would of done black valve covers with red Pontiac text. and then '207 Turbo" on the plenum in the spots I did my text.

3400-95-Modified had that metalcast on his old throttle body in a yellow/gold color and it really did look like anodized aluminum. Your's isn't showing up that well in the pics though.

EDIT: Saw on TGO. There are some blue corvette motors too. Blue isn't always ford.... And yeah you got your 3500 plenum from Boner didn't you? Got a pic of it? I'm wondering how far he got polishing it since when he showed it to me.

Nice! I look forward to seeing the setup. Got a pic of the plenum? I want to see how polished it is. I think I asked that before in another thread who knows lol.
