    Our monster lathe running (video)

    This thing is bad to the bone. Holds .0001" tolerance and can turn some big parts

    The part in there is d2 tool steel 3" dia...




    6000rpm max spindle speed, 16 tools, 36" length, 22" dia capability.

    I should show the lathe at my shop where we machine 7 FOOT diameter conveyor pulleys

    But that thing is pretty sweet.

      I can't wait until we start on the 6"dia prototype that's next, couldb't imagine 7 foot!

        No vid. But yea we make engineered conveyor pulleys for the mining industry. The average is 5' diameter but the larger ones are 7'. Some assemblies tip the scales at almost 60,000lbs with the shafting and bearings installed.

        Some of the pulleys run off 2000HP motors but only turn a few hundred RPM. They snap 14" shafts like twigs if they jam.
