    On Glass Antenna

Would an on-glass antenna like this work in a car?

    details here:

My power antenna failed and I was thinking of filling it and going with something a little cleaner. This one mounts right on the glass. It's meant for a boat but what do you guys think? Should I get decent reception?

Most cars nowadays come with factory glass antenas, so I don't see why not... Just do a google search for reviews on it. I'm sure someone out there has installed in on a car.

I think I'm going to give it a try. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I'm not expecting perfect reception from it. Right now I have no antenna since my power antenna failed - 3rd time! Even without the antenna mast up I get ok reception on some local stations and surprisingly good reception on a distant but powerful station.

let me know how much it is and how well it works. i wouldnt mind something like that too. screw antennas. they look too oldschool. if i could get a fin antenna like a BMW i would.

I have an antenna similar to that in my truck and my Lumina (shaved the antennas on both). It works about as well as the stock antenna, I piced mine up from a local autoparts store for $22

Installed it last night. It is on the rear glass, way up high in the darkened area so it is not visible from the outside.

It is a definite improvement over my broken power antenna but it isn't quite as good as a regular mast antenna. I'd recommend it only if you are looking for a cleaner look and want to ditch the mast antenna.

The only reason I got mine is because I use an FM transmitter thing with my MP3 player, and the mast antenna just wasn't picking up the signal.
