My wife and I tried an interesting experiment the other day... We actually caught a small brown recluse and released it into my daughter's ant farm. Lets just say, the turn out was way different that both of us expected. The spider basically ran away anytime an ant came near it. A couple ants got close initially, but didn't really pay it any attention. After about 5-7 min, the spider had actually crawled down one of the tunnels. All of the sudden, a couple ants surrounded it, and commenced to pulling it down to the bottom, where the rest of the ants were. Within another 2-3 minutes, the spider was ripped into several pieces. That evening, no parts of the spider could be seen.

We have enough recluses around, I'm sure I could catch another and video it this time. Although my wife still has nightmares about it.
