Ivan the Terrible is running me out of the hills

I talked to my boss this evening, Ivan is expected to dump 20" or so of rain on this area. Since things haven't rebounded from frances completely as of yet, I expect this one to really make a mess even up here in the hills.

Power will likely be out, and there's a good chance of having no way to get around due to the valleys where most roads are being flooded.

So, I am guessing the chances of keeping power and ability to get around is better in the Triad than here, and I'm heading for the Triad area, to my parents house. Chris, this means that if you're messing with the cars, let me know! I'll probably have not much to do other than hang around the house.

School has been cancelled for the rest of the week anyway, and whether or not it'll still be closed next week is unknown. You know the storm is gonna be bad if a university cancels classes.

I'm currently taking a break from my neighbors "pre-hurricane party" and I'm working on beer #6.

Tomorrow, after it's all worn off, I pack up and hit the road to go to the Triad area, where I'll hopefully have internet access and power throughout the storm... it shouldn't do much there.

I think,...instead of trying to take over the world,....the U.S. should start a project,... to build a REALLY big fucking umbrella! Again, good luck to all in the path.
