    Hesitation problem

    i have an 86 jimmy with a 2.8 in it it is 2 wheel drive,the problem im having is it idles high and hesitates when i try to take off!sometimes it even makes like a spuddering noise wich sounds like a backfire but not as loud and comes from like the engine compartment! now i have old rusty manifolds with a couple of leaks so im thinking ,aybe thats causing the hesitation but i dont think so! so any help would be appreciated! thanks

      try the simple stuff first for high idle. cracked or broken vac hoses. Then check EGR valve(is it dirty or defective(broke)). Then the intake gaskets. This shit can be a common problem on all motors.
