    93 Z34 - Climate Control Panel lights

I think I already know the answer to this, but alas, I thought I would ask...just in case.

How does one change the lights for the climate control panel? Both? of mine have gone out and I need to replace them. I had the dash apart and the module out, but it appears the lights themselves are soldered to the circuit board. Is this so? Is there a way to replace them other than replacing the entire module?

    Thanks,

You may have to do some soldering. I had to do this with my GTP. It wasn't the climate control though, it was the headlight control modual. I think the little 12 volt bulbs are available at Radio Shack. But replaceing the modual is a viable option. If you shop around you can easily get one for 20 bucks off ebay, or maybe from someone on this site. 20-30 Bucks to me, sounds easier than fucking around with the soldering. I didn't have a computer at the time I did mine, and I was a little more ambitious then too.

Fuck, look at this. 20 seconds on Ebay. You can't even buy the new bulb for that price. Damn I'm good.

        Thanks! but...

10 minutes to remove the dash pad, R trim panel and module.

20 mins to disassemble the module and desolder all 6 (six) bulbs.

$9.00 in bulbs from Radio Shack.

30 mins to solder new bulbs in place and reassemble module.

10 mins to reinstall the module, R dash trim panel, and dash pad.

Not buying a module at least a year older than mine (with bulbs a year older also) and avoiding the likelihood of having to do it all again....Priceless

So, what you are saying is you did it already? Cool.

              O. So there is supposed to be a light behind the climate control. I thought it was just another dumb thing that they forgot to put on including cupholders.
