    beretta questions

what motor came in a 1996 beretta z-26? would a 3.4dohc fit as a replacement? i have come across a beretta that i might buy. the owner says it doesn't run because of a cracked camshaft. give me your thoughts. the price is $600. would or is it worth the price. it looks real clean.

    RE: beretta questions

Stock 96 Berettas came with a 3100 as the V6 option. A DOHC won't fit without MAJOR fabricating.

If you do get it, I'd like to take the cam off your hands... Add it to my broken 3x00 cam collection.

off topic, but do the cams break often in the 3x00?

No. I actually only have 1 that I found in a junkyard. You can tell by looking at the lobes that there was a major oil starvation problem before it broke. I have pictures around here somewhere of it... I'll post if I can find them.

Well, that was easy to find!!

Yeah, I've shown that pic off several times. Probably one of my all time favorite Berettas....
