    rotrex supercharger

    i found this cool superchargers on the net the other day and i was just wondering if any body knows of them or if someone has one and how the work for them

    i know they had a car on the powertour last year, some sort of twin supercharged big block IIRC, i'll look and see if i can dig it up tonight.

    a friend of mine that was on the powertour was really impressed by it, they look like they are making a hell of a product

      in general these types of sc's make they're power
      in the higher rpm's.

      a roots type has it's pressure(power) sooner.(better if you ask me)

      ther is a guy at the pennock fiero forum that had one on his car.

        yeah i get what you mean i like the rootstyle better my self but hard to install (to look good anywayz) but the rotrex supercharger is more simple

            as to the best of my knowledge from what I've studied, the rotrex is the most efficient form of boost to hp loss (compared to either a turbo or blower), and operates much like a turbo does. But, unless things have changed, the only kit applications with a rotrex charger are for mostly european and some aisian imports right now, which would mean you'd be looking at a custom setup.

            They're neat as hell, though; I'd like to have one, personally.

                    The rotrex super charger is a ball bearring friction based s.c. It works like a turbo in that as higher rpm's are applied, more friction causes the impeller to spin exponentially faster. Best of both worlds if you ask me!

                      On top of all that, they're also a TON quieter than either a sc or a turbo - from what vids I've seen, you usually can't hear a rotrex over a performance exhaust setup

                        Sounds to me like it would be peakier than a normal centrifugal SC. You would need more impeller speed at lower crank speed to help offset the rpm-dependant boost of this these blowers.
