The tranny build went so bad, I'm having to take the guy to court. I've almost got my sense of humor back, but don't have the car.

Anyway, as shown in the mock-up, the blower housing comes within 1/8th inch of the hood where the hood bracing crosses over it. I believe the bracing can be notched out a bit for enough clearance. As it sits in the pics, the SC outlet rests on the brass fitting atop the t-stat housing. I did not try the modded housing because I did not want to drain the coolant yet again.

With this SC outlet, I was trying to get close enough to the upper intake to allow a 90 degree elbow to reach it, and get good flow. With a shorter SC outlet, you might get better clearance and piping options for intercooling, but I was concerned that flow would be affected. So the outlet design is negotiable.

The SC inlet I am very pleased with. I tried to make it as universal as possible, starting with a 68mm opening and enough room to tap threads for the stock size throttle body mounts and bracket. I'm not sure yet, but I think the LX5 adapter plate will fit. I'm hoping it can also serve as a mounting point for the blower case. It also closely matches the MP90s 45 degree angle inlet contour, so I anticipate very good flow with it. It is much thicker than it needs to be, allowing for porting or thinning down the outer surface if desired. It can also fit the MP112.

These are obviously not "investment castings," try to price some and you'll know why . However, if you have the patience to make a pattern and can locate a good sand casting foundry, these are pretty affordable. Just how affordable I won't say at this time. A local machine shop charges $10.00 per unit to put a flat mounting surface on them.

As far as weight, this MP90 unit is about 31 lbs without the castings, about the same as the MP62 with its casting installed. The MP90 inlet is 4.25 lbs, and the outlet 2 5/8 lbs. This extra weight will make the mounting system a great challenge, and is probably the most critical step in the process.

As much as I hated to tear into my DD, I could not wait any longer to do some test fittings. The MP 62 will go back on tomorrow

Battery relocation is needed for this, and t-stat housing modification.
