    The Turbo Lumina shopping list

Alrighty guys! I can finally get to working on the Lumina!! I know what I want, and have the powerplant to do it!

I know I need to rebuild the internals of the LQ1 I have (from a 96 Monte Carlo) with "the good stuff".. I want this to be a strong screamin car, and that's why I chose the LQ1.. It is a screamer already, lol..

I am going to go with the OBD2 computer system in the car so I have some more tuning potential, and I don't need to worry about transmission control: I am going 5 speed with it..

As far as the Turbo goes, I can get a decent deal on a T70 turbo, but I am looking more at a GT35r, or a T50 or 55.. As I understand, the 70 is too big for it to be an effective solution.. What I want here, is to minimum double my horsepower without needing to 8k the tach to feel the gain..

As far as the BOV, Intercooler, etc, I know thatr if I spend enough, I wont have to worry about it not being effective enough.. Anyone have some suggestions on Intercoolers? What route to take, companies, etc..

The BOV I have seen some discussion on DSM BOVs, and am interested in where/how to get one..

The main goal behind this car is to have a fun and fast Turbo'd LQ1 I can drive down the freeway with the windows down on a July evening at Dusk, but the scond someone who thinks they're better than me initiates a race, I can smash the gas, hear the turbo spool and scream, and fly past them, and to finally see the look of WTF on their facres when they get beaten by a 1990 Lumina Sedan

very kewl. that is definately a sleeper. it has been a while since i have seen you post a thread.

      thought you were dead.

i was lightly thinking about a turbo setup at one time but i decided to stay n/a. there is a smoking deal on a F.A.S.T setup in the buy sell section that would be perfect for a turbo. if i were you, i'd capitalize be4 i get tired of looking at it .

plus a 96 lq1 i think is the way to go with turbo b/c of the larger exhaust ports. keep me posted.

Ill be checkin that out in a couplea seconds if someone can link me.. I am actually kinda thrilled tpo do somethings to it after my Tax return time comes through.. I am wondering.. Does anyone agree or disagree with me on my Turbo choice here? I think for sure the T70 is far too big.. But what of a Turbonetics T50 or 55?

        Ill keep ya posted man!

IMO, the GT35R is the best choice for a street 3.4 DOHC.

                Syn, THe PMs arent working:

Interested in this bad boy.. How much you lookin to get for it? Is it *Just* the turbo?

I dont know much about this specific unit, so I am going to research this a little further.. A big part of that actually is that I will need to wait until tax time rolls around.. Ill get back to you as soon as i know what I get back from the Gov't, but if you want to shoot a number out there, by all means go for it..

I am also thinking i want the GT35r just because it is so highly recomended for the 3.4
