That site comes up with the correct lifter.... however... advance auto parts, napa, or oreilly's can confirm this. They are slacking I guess.... I was already doubting advance's site because they were showing a mechanical tappet.... I would think all OEM's were roller at this point......

Goto the AutoZone website and do a search. I came up with a Melling hydraulic roller lifter, PN JB-2270, with a price of $15.99 each.

What year, make, and model did the engine come in?Originally posted by bszopi View PostYou are thinking of the Olds 3.5L, NOT the 3500.
edit: Looking at the 60 DEG V6 Family Tree on here.....I see in '04... the 3500 in the Malibu... but when I look up replacement lifters for this motor at Advance Auto Parts..... the lifters show up as flat tappet.... not roller tappet....???Last edited by Blazer406; 02-04-2008, 08:27 AM.

Best I can tell... the 3500 is a close cousin to the Northstar... and is also a 90 deg V6... and DOHC...I don't think they are in the same engine family....Originally posted by ForcedFirebird View PostWell, then I have a set from a 3500 if they will work. Have 23k miles on them and I bought the engine for the top end, so it was running good when dissasembled.
I can measure the length on Mon for you.
1999-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue
2001-2002 Oldsmobile Aurora
I don't think they are in the same family as the 3.1L and 3.4L.... unless someone can shed some additional light.....

You guys see if you can help Bob out.... he meant 60 deg V6 (above).... My conversion was fairly painless... and I am about to re-install my engine.... My funds has pushed my project way longer than expected. I really have high expectations for this conversion...Originally posted by TurboBob View PostHey guys, I need the same stuff as I want to try the same conversion.
So....
Short roller lifters 90 degree V6, 3.1 - 3.4, see application list above
I would like to get a couple sets, from non-grenaded engines.
I also need dogbones from a 3800, and the retainer from a ~86 3.8L FWD like a LeSabre.
Thanks!!!

Thanks again guys for your help....

As long as the lifters are the same diameter, they should work with custom pushrods. That is, providing you have a way to retain them square to the cam.

I can get you pics tonight, they are all in good shape. I also have the pushrods and rockers if you would need those and I would let it all go for $100 shipped. But either way I will get the pics of the lifters tonight.
