for sale **uncommon** 97 3.4 dohc cam carriers

these are the hard-to-come-by 97 lq1 cam carriers with cams in it.

they are getting really hard to find now.

i have 2 other sets and have no use for them, they are sitting around doing me no good.

while these use slghtly different timings than the previous cams they will interchange.

they feature much lighter and smaller lifters than all the previous years.

you can swap in older cams if you desire.

all 4 gears are present but if you use these on the 91-93 engines you will need to get a 94+ drive gear.

they do not have the endcaps but they can be found at any junkyard or swapped from your existing cams

they have been sitting a while and have a little surface rush on the cam lobes but none in the bearings. a little emory cloth can fix that. i will apply a coat of oil tomorrow.

i haven't checked yet but i believe they have lifters included. i have acouple vats of oil and i have to check and see if the lifters are in there.

if i have lifters $125 plus shipping, if not $75 plus shipping.

if they do not have lifters, finding more is a breeze as they use the same lifters as the cadillac northstar. same part number and all.

talk to somebody at CHRFAB, i am aure they have alot laying around.

i will know tomorrow whether or not they have lifters

What advantage is this over the first gen setup?

the advantage over the 91-93 is no lockrings and the advantage over 91-96 is they use smaller and much lighter lifters.

lastly, you can interchange cams. so if you wanted to run 91-95 cams in there it would be no sweat. no need to use 96 cams b/c they are the same.
