3400/3100 parts for sale

I have a set of 3400 upper and lower intakes and 3400 heads for ($150 OBO pm me.)
I also have a set of 3100 small port intakes and small port heads (make an offer Pm me)

They are off of a 97 3.4 van but I think the intake valves are the same as the 2000 plus I think. Not sure though.

The 3400 heads are all the same except for the 2003+ I think got 8mm rocker studs instead of 10mm... So no significant difference.

Oh, I thought the 2000+ had larger intake valves. Maybe that's only the 3100? Think I should get 'em for my hybrid build? They aren't 3500's, but much cheaper.

No, the 2000+ 3100's had larger intake valves, because they got 3400 heads and intake manifolds. Depends how much power you want to make. You can still make good power with 3400 stuff and a cam/etc.

How much of a difference you really suppose it would make? I think the cost-benefit ratio may be favoring the 3400.

Hope the OP doesn't mind the discussion, at least it's free bumps. Well, easiest way to explain it is 3400 is 185hp stock, 3500 is 200hp stock. The extra 3500 power is made from the heads, plenum and .1l extra displacement, and better exhaust manifolds. If it's worth the extra cost or not is up to you and if you want every bit of power you can get. But yeah 3400 stuff is more common. $150 for the whole top end isn't bad at all.

Yeah, if I'm doing a full build, then I'd like to squeeze all I reasonably can out of it. BUT, sometimes it comes down to the dollars and cents.

Could still have the 3400 intake ported by WOT for a little more kick, right? Cam and exhaust might get me into the 200hp club?

Not to take over this post too much... but I'll probably pick these up.

Just blew through some cash buying a folding shop crane and another engine stand. So I guess I'm not done screwing around with engines.
